WhatsApp Beta Update Brings “Chat Interoperability” Feature To Allow Receive Third Party Chat
WhatsApp has submitted a new update from TestFlight, which brings the version to 24.2.10.72. The version marked within WhatsApp settings is 2.24.2.72, and the testflight build is 24.2.10(550958128). The company is working on the Chat Interoperability feature to comply with the new EU regulations, which will be available to everyone in the coming days.
The WhatsApp for Android 2.23.19.8 update is working on becoming compliant with EU regulations. It can receive messages from any other app while third-party chat support on the Android App is still in development; the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.2.10.72 update will be brought on while the WhatsApp app is still in the works.
Additionally, users will be able to gain the ability to communicate on WhatsApp using other messaging apps. On the other hand, interoperability signals that will enable WhatsApp users to send messages even without a WhatsApp account on any separate messaging app. This will facilitate more inclusive and diverse communication channels.
Furthermore, end-to-end encryption in interoperable messaging systems must protect users, ensuring a good level of security when engaged in cross-platform communications.
