Google Vids: Introducing a New AI-powered Tool For Google Workspace Suite

Google Workspace suite has evolved over time, offering several impressive yet convenient features to get things done on the go. It’s an essential tool for professionals who manage industry-level workflows within Docs, Sheets, Slides, and more. Now, with the ongoing trend of AI, Google announced a new element for its Google Workspace suite: Google Vids.

Google Announced Vids At Cloud Next 2024

Just announced at the Google Cloud Next 2024 event, the latest Google Vids is an AI-powered tool that will allow Workspace users to create professional video edits with less effort and more accuracy. The new Google Vids acts as a professional writer, Producer, and editing assistant for the Workspace app, converting complex information into a much more understandable format.  

Google is integrating the newest Google Vids with its other services, including Docs, Slides, and Sheets. Vids is a purple document icon with a small play button. On the web, Vids offers an easy-to-use UI while also providing the flexibility that allows users to collaborate and share their content with others easily. 

Create professional videos through AI-powered Google Vids

The new Google Vids uses generative AI that significantly helps in creating your videos by going through each step in chronological order, including the description of your idea, script writing, design, editing, audience, length, and more. To begin, you need to type a prompt that says- “Help me create a video.” then, you need to give the entire description of your idea with the goal, audience, and length of the video. Here, you can even add or attach any document from Google Drive by simply entering @ and choosing the desired document.

Now, Vids will create a storyline based on your idea and description that can be easily reordered, deleted, or added. In the next step, google will bring all the video pieces together and will also provide you with suggestions, including images, background music, and sound effects, respectively; you need to choose a video style. Once done, all the things will be combined in the form of a video timeline through the generative AI. 

Moreover, Google officially stated that the new Google Vids will be rolled out to Workspace Labs initially this June, which will allow the company to monitor progress before rolling out the new tool more widely to non-Workspace enterprise users.
