Google releases the Android 15 Beta 3.1 build to the Pixels with several fixes to the lock screen, system stability, and connectivity

A while ago, Google’s latest Android 15 hit the most significant milestone of entering the platform stability phase, which is inching it closer to its stable channel. Meanwhile, Google doesn’t want to sit back, as the company just introduced another version of the Android 15 Beta 3 Build. The Android 15 Beta 3.1it significantly brings several fixes for the frightful bugs within Pixel devices. 

Android 15 Beta 3.1 Improves And Brings Feature To Pixel Devices

Google has released the latest Android 15 Beta 3.1 build that lands with the AP31.240517.031 official build version. This new update ships with the June 2024 Security patch level and Google Play Services version 24.21.14. Although this is a new update, it still significantly impacts the overall functionality of the Pixel devices, as it brings some critical fixes to those frightful bugs within the lock screen that remained to be acknowledged within the previous beta version of Android 15. 

This newest yet minor Android 15 Beta 3.1 update brings several fixes that significantly cause the lock screen to prompt the user to unlock the phone, even while interacting with the elements present on the lock screen that are not required to be unlocked. The update further fixes the issue that frequently causes face authentication failure while also fixing the problems affecting overall system stability, connectivity, and audio quality. 

Moreover, all the eligible Pixel devices enrolled within the Android Beta for Pixel program will receive the latest Android 15 Beta 3.1 build via the OTA update. Thus, all the eligible devices will automatically receive the newer update on their Pixel devices. Here’s the complete changelog:

Android 15 Beta 3.1 (July 2024)

This minor update to Android 15 Beta 3 includes the following fixes:

  • Fixed issues that caused the lock screen to intercept touch input and prompt the user to unlock the device, even when interacting with elements on the lock screen that don’t require the device to be unlocked. (Issue #348101427, Issue #345873537)
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused biometric face authentication to fail.
  • Fixed various other issues impacting system stability, connectivity, and audio quality.
