Google Maps Offline Mode Rolls Out for Wear OS: Navigate Without Connectivity

The Pixel Watch 3 was announced a few days ago, and now Google Maps for WearOS will be rolling out offline. This new offline feature of Google will work the same as the handset’s app, and after updating it, you will be given all the information about how it works.

After updating, you will see a new “Offline Maps” page just above the setting near the bottom of the main menu, which you can use just like Online Maps. The app appears to automatically download maps for your area and sync any offline locations already present on your watch.
It will only download offline locations for which permission has been granted. You can also remove other options by tapping. It automatically syncs when on Wi-Fi and charging so that the user can continue to get all the information.

Google will show the download slash cloud icon next to the time when you’re offline. This connects to the new “Find and Go” tile, which shows shortcuts to your home and work and a microphone for voice input.
Users can also tap “Map” to go to the view and bypass the main feed. The new feature can also be seen on the Pixel Watch 2 with Google Maps version 11.140.0701.W, but Google Maps is currently in beta.
