Google Messages Amy Will Soon Fix a Major Privacy Flaw in Profile Search
Google Messages, one of Android’s most used messaging apps, now comes across a privacy issue related to its profile search feature. The flaw has raised concern about users’ personal information being exposed without proper control, but Google is reportedly working on a fix to address this vulnerability in an upcoming update.
Google Messages Fix Privacy Flaw Profile
Users can follow various steps to secure their profiles, including removing their full or short name and showing or hiding their profile picture. Google Messages has added changes in the v20241010 beta, allowing users to control who sees their name and profile picture.
Google Messages will have three options for profile privacy and visibility for users; the first option will probably show your name and profile picture first to everyone you message. The second option will restrict your name and picture and make them visible only to people in your contact list. The third option will hide your name and profile picture from everyone.
These new options will be presented to users when they first log in to Google Messages. However, it is not clear whether choosing the “Nobody” option will turn off the profile search features. This new feature has been confirmed via Android Authority, but it has not yet been widely rolled out to all Google Messages users.
