Android Photo Picker Rolling Out To More Apps, including Google Chat & Keep
Among the myriad improvements and new features in Android 13, Google also launched a photo picker, which is also available on older operating system versions. With the recent Google Play Services July 2023 update, more apps are adding support for that new photo picker.
A few days ago, Google released the Play System July 2023 update, which brings improvements to the device’s battery and charging, wallet, and system management. Meanwhile, Esper senior technical editor Mishal Rahman mentions the new feature photo picker tool to more apps.
According to Android Researcher, this new feature is currently available in some other apps like Google Chat and Keep. However, the quality is already available in more apps to access Photos. With this feature, the company is focused on providing a more consistent and convenient photo selection experience across different apps on your Android 13 or later device.
For your information, Google Voice is one of the first apps to add support for Android’s new image picker. The new selector “protects users’ photo and video privacy.” This allows apps to use this selector instead of requiring permission to view the user’s photos or videos.
Moreover, it is designed to make access easier and faster for users and shows a grid of thumbnails of your recent photos. Replacing the old system file picker, which showed all the files and folders on your device.
