Over time, the smart word in front of the phone is worth counting. Today, every valuable feature is in the smartphone, out of which more storage is available than ever. But because the number of applications and sources has increased, so much storage also needs to catch up to users. To resolve this drawback, Android finally added a new facility, which will automatically “Archive” applications that are not often used.
A vast library of applications of the users leads to eating up the huge amount of internal storage available on the Android device. Still, now the users are recommended to take a chill. Android provides the facility to the users by which their unused applications, which they used to use most hardly, will automatically get archived. And at the moment, the functionality has been made easily available to all the users.
However, Android first introduced “Auto-Archive” through the Play Store back in April 2023, which arrived with the ability to release Android applications that the users don’t actively use to free up some space for new application installations and updates.
But the only drawback was that the feature was only available if the user’s phone needed more storage space. This feature was only visible to the users who had run out or were about to run out of their internal storage on their Android phones. Then, the Play Store used to prompt the users with the ability to turn on auto-archive. And this was the only way to turn on the feature. But fortunately, the brand worked on it and enhanced the facility for the users.
According to information, Google is rolling out a feature by which users can enable auto-archive for Android applications, despite how much storage is still available. Now, a new toggle appearing in the Play Store permits the users to turn on auto-archive preemptively. Then, they never used to run into storage as a foundation while installing new applications.
How To Turn One Auto Archive Feature
To turn on the Auto-archive, the users have to open the Play Store >> click on Profile picture >> click on Settings >> General section >> finally turn on “Automatically archive app.”
After turning on the Auto-archive apps, the users will see those applications in the app library placed in the Play Store, where they are all listed under an “archived” filter.
