With the introduction of the Galaxy S23 series, users have noticed certain notable changes in every aspect of the smartphone, be it software technologies or intuitive hardware capabilities. One such interesting in-built feature of Galaxy smartphones is the Screen Timeout, which allows you to adjust and change your screen time easily. Meanwhile, certain users have encountered issues regarding Screen Timeout not working on their Galaxy S23 devices.

Moreover, the Screen timeout is the length of time your Galaxy S23 display stays on before turning off to conserve battery. Some users have experienced problems with the screen timing out too fast or needing to stay on longer. There are several troubleshooting tips you can use to get your Galaxy S23 screen timeout working properly again. So, just follow all the troubleshooting tips one by one to solve the Samsung S23 screen timeout issue.

How To Fix The Screen Timeout Not Working On Samsung Galaxy S23?

  • Check the Timeout Settings:

Firstly, make sure that the timeout is set to your desired duration. You may want to temporarily increase the duration to see if that leads to rapid timeout issues. To do that:

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Scroll down and tap Display.
  3. Then again, scroll down a bit and click Screen timeout.
  4. While you are troubleshooting, select the shortest timeout and see if that’s accurate.
  5. Then, choose slightly longer timeouts, and also check that your screen brightness is not set to extremely low.
  • Disable Adaptive Brightness:

You need to turn on the adaptive Brightness feature, as this feature can automatically lower your phone’s brightness in order to save power. This might cause the phone’s screen to turn off sooner than expected. So disable it:

  1. By heading to the Settings.
  2. Then tap Display.
  3. Then, select the Adaptive Brightness toggle to turn it off.
  4. Then monitor if the changes your timeout issues.
  • Restart your device:

A simple restarting of your device can often resolve glitchy software issues like screen timeout problems, as restart refreshes all the processes.

  1. So, press and hold the Volume down and power button for a couple of seconds until the power option appears.
  2. Tap restart and confirm the reboot process.
  3. Now, wait for your phone to restart successfully.
  4. Then, try to see if the problem is fixed or not.
  •   Reset App Preferences:

As a last resort, you can easily reset all your app preferences, as this will revert all apps to their default settings. To do so:

  1. Open settings.
  2. Then scroll down and tap Apps.
  3. On the next screen, tap on the More icon (three dots menu) at the top right.
  4. Then select Reset App Preferences.
  5. When prompted, tap on the Reset option to confirm.

Although these solutions would be more than enough to solve a simple problem like this, even after performing every single troubleshooting trick, you are still facing the problem that you might have to perform a factory reset of your Samsung Galaxy S23 device.
