Google Drive is introducing a new update, which is announcing the Document Scanner iOS that was just redesigned on Android to iOS for the very first time.

Let’s take a closer look at exactly what is changing with this update for Android and iOS users.

For so long, users only had the ability to scan physical documents, for instance, their receipts or passports, while using the Google Drive application on Android Devices.

Then, earlier this year, the company offered extra functionality to recommend relevant title suggestions for scanned documents by capitalizing machine learning.

Now, finally, the company is delivering additional enhancements to the Drive scanner on Android devices, which is now powering the Google Pixel camera.

Plus, it includes improvements to the scanner experience while capturing documents or any content.

Now, the camera will help the users to position their documents for the highest quality scan. At the same time, it supports back-to-back shots for multiple-page documents.

To adjust the boundaries, rotate, apply filter, and other options, the users have to tap the preview placed at the bottom left corner.

Once the users click ‘Save, ‘Google will use machine learning to suggest the most relevant title. The Drive might recognize if it’s a receipt and append a store location in place of just the date. The users can also decide where to store the PDFs even before uploading them.

The company is rolling out this document scanner in Google Drive for iPhone and iPad updates with the version number v4.2023.46227
