Google now announces Google Maps AI-powered AirView+
Google on Wednesday announced the addition of AirView+ to Google Maps bringing air quality data across India to users to know the air quality of an entire city. For this new feature, the brand has deployed special sensors to monitor air quality data in 150 Indian cities, partnering with climate tech firms and researchers from various Indian Institutes of Technology.
The system uses Artificial Intelligence models from Indian government agencies and the Mountain View-based tech giant to collect large amounts of air quality at a hyperlocal level. This will keep all users getting accurate and up-to-date air quality data. For example, the air in the Delhi NCR region has reached dangerous levels of particulate matter PM10 and PM2.5, which users can easily see on maps.
Apart from this, users will also be exposed to active measures to fix India’s air quality problems. The reason for the increase in this air quality problem is believed to be the lack of data and the lack of technology to convert such a large amount into actionable information.
Google Maps AI-powered AirView+
Google has connected it through the AI-powered Air-View+ system so that government agencies can also actively help deal with air pollution. Thus, the ecosystem will also get a new solution, which will also help in making all areas free from air quality deficiency.
In addition, Google has also partnered with IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, the State Pollution Board, climate technology firm Aurassure, and Respirer Living Science. With this, users can measure temperature and humidity along with air quality sensors PM 2.5, PM10, CO2, NO2, Ozone, and VOCs, which will easily provide every-minute measurements to the users.
Apart from this information, in Google Maps users can also see other information by selecting any location and selecting air quality from the layer button on the home screen and the weather widget on the Explore tab. Both of these features will be rolled out widely soon.
