New Telegram Update Adds New Features

The June update for Telegram brings several new features including a way to minimize mini apps into a compact bar that will help content creators monetize their channels with photos and videos. The update also makes Stories even better by introducing search by hashtags and a new link widget. 

This update will be rolled out today, the mini app developers and content creators can use their earned Stars to receive rewards in Toncoin or purchase Telegram advertising at special discounted rates. Additionally, several new features have been added to the app which are as follows – 

Mini App Bar

However, this has been the case for some time now, as more than 500 million Telegram users interact with mini-apps every month to buy products, access other services, and Play games. To use it, you can now minimize the mini app to a bar at the bottom of your screen. 

You can also reply to messages received in it or if you open other mini apps, you don’t have to wait for it to reload. To minimize it, you just need to swipe down on its header. To reopen, tap the app bar at the bottom of your screen and select one of your active apps. 

Telegram Starts 

Just last month, brands launched Telegram Stars to buy digital products in the mini app. Now, content creators can also accept some Stars by publishing photos or videos on their channel, allowing subscribers to view the post only after paying them. 

Creators can also earn cryptocurrency rewards in TonCoin by using Stars. Additionally, they can be used to advertise their channel and increase the number of subscribers for which Telegram will not take any commission. 

Search Stories By Hashtag

You can now search for things you like in any chat by using hashtags. Using this, you can see the search results in any chat and public channels. It also lets you browse public Stories with similar tags when you tap a hashtag in the caption of a story. 

It can also help you grow your audience by giving Telegram users another way to organically discover your profile and channel. This feature is included in Telegram Premium as well as Telegram Free. 

You can now search stories by location

Users can also add location tags to their stories which works just like other social media apps. Like hashtags, tapping a location tag lets you browse public stories from that same location. It will only be visible to those you have permission to view. Private stories never appear in search results. 

Link Widget in Stories

This feature is only available to premium users who can make links stand out by adding a Link Widget to their Stories. It adds stylish links to photos or videos that also support both light and dark backgrounds. It also allows the Link Widget to be attached to a custom link that also replaces the URL text at the top of the preview. 

Rewards for Content Creators and Developers

Content creators and developers who provide digital goods and services can monetize their channels using Telegram Stars to receive rewards in TonCoin or to buy Telegram ads. Telegram Stars have no commissions so only taxes and payment system fees will apply. A 30% discount can also be given to cover all types of fees in Telegram when you transfer stars to your Telegram Ads account.
