Google Maps now introduced a speedometer and speed limit on iPhone, and Carplay is to rolled out globally
Google Maps had already introduced a speedometer and speed limit on Android devices long ago. Now, after more than five years, these features will soon be rolled out globally on iOS and CarPlay to help users prevent while driving. Before this, the brand is rolling out the traffic indications on the map.
Google has decided to roll out this feature globally. When users start Navigation on this new Google Maps update, the vehicle speed will be shown in miles or kilometres, depending on the area, so that users can also maintain their speed. Earlier last week, new speeding features were seen in Google Maps in india.
To take advantage of the new features of the Google Maps app on iPhone, you first have to go to settings, then Navigation, and finally the Driving option and turn on the Speedometer and Speed Limit. Once enabled, the feature will change the colour of the speed indicator to remind you to drive within the speed limit set in your area.
Google further mentioned that the speedometer vehicle speed is for “information use only”. In reality, relying on it can be a bit dangerous. Earlier, Google launched the speedometer and speed limit feature on Android in 2019, which expanded to more than 40 countries after being limited to select markets.
