WhatsApp is working on a new feature for the Android 2.24.15.5 update that allows users to translate any message. This update has just surfaced through WhatsApp beta, in which the company announced that WhatsApp is starting to translate voice messages and will also allow users to automatically convert voice notes to text.

This new feature also uses transcription on-device processing to maintain privacy. It appears that WhatsApp is moving to further improve communication access through new services, the main purpose of which is to improve the user experience.
This feature relies on Google’s live translation technology, which is capable of giving users a different experience and helping directly on the device.
In the future, users will need to download language packs to access translations in any language. This feature currently limits live translation to Hindi and English only; many more languages can be included in this update in the coming days.
