Google may soon roll out Snapchat-like filters, allowing users to see a fun avatar of photos, videos, and many other filters in the Google message. The company has revealed that the feature is still in development, but the update could be rolled out to all Android devices.
The video provided by the company shows that the upcoming feature looks similar to Snapchat’s lenses and has a 3D effect that has a different impact on the user’s face. Users cover their faces through the impact, including accessories like hats or glasses. The app’s camera UI has a new button to the left of the shutter button that contains all the available effects.
Under this feature, nine effects have been seen in version 20240708 of Google Messages, which include Bunny, Glasses, Dinosaur, Film Noir, Glowing hat, Runner, Portraits touch-up, Strawberry, and Valentine’s Day panda. All these features have not been rolled out widely yet, but it is expected that the brand will roll them out to all consumers soon.
Before this, Google is also working on custom bubble filters, a redesign of the audio recorder, selfie GIFs, etc. The brand is also rolling out another design for testing, which is the RCS Message Field. This feature easily provides shortcuts to messages, emojis, magic composes, a gallery, and more.
