After the brand introduced the Mark as Play feature for podcast episodes and sound search, YouTube Music now gives artist pages a new design on Android and iOS. It was also confirmed earlier that YouTube Music is working on the long-awaited “Sound Search” feature for Android and iOS that lets you “Play, sing or hum any song”.
However, this new design could start with the artist’s name aligning to the left with the subscriber count and a proper pill-shaped button to follow. YouTube Music has also tested a “Play” button that could take advantage of the circular button for smaller touch targets. The latest release card could also be available before moving on to the top songs and the rest of the feed.
Additionally, users can easily take advantage of the radio in it, which is a nice modernization. The feature also matches the redesign of album and playlist pages in 2022.
This artist page redesign will be a server-side update to YouTube Music for Android or iOS. Apart from all this, YouTube Music will also get a ‘Badges’ feature, where you can tap on your profile image to find a new section between “Your Recap” and “Paid Subscription.”
Unfortunately, this feature has not yet been rolled out. The brand introduced many other features in YouTube Music earlier this year and started testing these capabilities earlier this year, while this new update of Google Play Music has yet to be rolled out.
