Exciting Telegram Update: New Browser, Mini App Store, and More Features

Messaging platform Telegram’s latest update includes a new in-app browser capable of supporting multiple tabs. The new feature includes a mini app store for its nearly one billion users, a new type of mini app, and the ability to give star gifts to friends. 

Telegram Browser

With the in-app browser, you can now close or reopen any page from the bottom bar, allowing you to switch between your messages and websites freely, view articles instantly, and switch between mini apps. Telegram’s browser also supports TON’s decentralized websites.

This makes Web3 instantly available to its nearly one billion monthly users. Additionally, when you read an article, browse a web page, or play a game, you can check your messages if you get a notification. Also, you can add a bookmark to return to a page later. 

Mini App Store

More than 500 million users interact with this mini app store every month. In addition, a new app tab has been added to the search that shows a list of the apps you use most and popular mini-apps so you can quickly access all your types of games and services.

Developers can now also upload video demos and screenshots for preview in their mini apps. Mini apps that use Telegram Stars can now appear in the Popular Apps sections. 

Sharing to Stories from Mini Apps

Users can now create and share custom story content apps whi, including AI-generates, achievements, or leaderboards. Snapchaters can also share these as Telegram Stories from the Mini App itself. This feature helps spread existing apps to their users’ contacts. 

Gift Starts to friends

Additionally, Telegram Stars allows users to purchase digital goods in the Mini App or access paid content channels. With this update, you can buy Stars as gifts for your contacts. You can use this only if your friends already have Premium available. To get Stars, go to Settings and then tap My Stars. On iOS, you will only see this menu if you have previously purchased stars for yourself. 

Flash when recording a video message

You can now use the front flash to add extra light to your screen, even when recording video messages in the dark. All other lights will turn off if you don’t need the light.

Tap the microphone icon in the message bar to switch to video recording. Next, press and hold the camera icon to record your video message. Swipe up to continue recording and tap the flash icon in the bottom left corner. After these steps, you can now use it easily. 

Weather widget stories

Users can now share the weather in their Stories by adding an animated widget to selfies. You can also add summer, winter, and other seasons to it.

Users will have to automatically switch between Celsius or Fahrenheit depending on the settings on the device, so that even on cloudless nights, the widget shows the phase of the moon, etc. You can also add music, links, or locations to your story from the stickers sections. 

Story Cover

With this new feature, you can now use frames in the cover photo when posting a video story on your profile. The feature also includes a variety of new frames for photos. 

Browser and Mini app tabs on macOS 

Telegram for macOS has a new browser and supports everything on a new tab- games, mini-apps, instant view page, and Web3 tons-sites. However, the brand has not announced yet to be of this update; it is expected to roll out soon.
