Google Pixel 8 Pro Gets a New Zoom Enhance Feature

After a long wait, the zoom enhance function is being rolled out to the Pixel 8 Pro as well and the feature is already present in the Pixel 9, 9 Pro and 9 Pro Fold. According to Google, some high-level camera features have been detailed in this new Pixel 9 series. On the other hand, this feature was announced by the brand during the 2023 keynote for the Pixel 8 Pro. 

Pixel 8 Pro zoom enhance feature

The zoom enhance feature uses AI to enhance the Quality of image at high zoom levels. However, Google has not detailed how the zoom enhancement will work in the camera app.

According to the officially blog post of Google, this zoom enhance appears to be made through the Google Photos App rather than the camera UI. Almost all of the user’s photos lack fidelity and can also be enhanced by scrolling to the “Tools” tab. 

For any photo, users can clean up the image using AI and then use the “Zoom Enhance” option. The feature will also introduce several other features such as – it supports HD video and audio, end-to-end encryption for all photos, recordings and transcripts and a streamlined calendaring. The latest Google Photos v6.95 has started rolling out and it will be rolled out widely in the coming days.
