Google Search rolled out an AI overview in six new countries after America

Google first launched AI Overview in Search in the US, and this feature launched in May 2024 to help people find information quickly and explore all that’s on the web. The reason for its failure was the replacement of the old, non-AI-branded overview for search queries with this new AI-branded one, which created a lot of new problems on the device.

However, this new change by Google was not needed, and these days, connecting everything to AI has created a new problem. Keeping this problem in mind, Google has announced the expansion of AI Overview to six more countries. These six new countries include the UK, India, Japan, Indonesia, Mexico, and Brazil. This new feature also comes with local language support in all these countries. 

The search experience with AI Overview is evolving to help people access information and perspectives from a variety of sources. This new feature allows users to easily navigate to a greater variety of websites for help with more complex queries. In addition, a new right-hand link is added to the display for AI Overview on the desktop to view other websites. 

This can also be accessed from a mobile by tapping on the icon. This update is rolling out globally to almost all countries, including more than 120 countries and Search Labs users. It appears that brands are also testing adding links to relevant web pages directly in the text of the AI Overview, making it easier for users to visit other sites based on their interests. 

Additionally, ads that appear above or below it will continue to provide valuable options for people to take action and connect with businesses. In addition, Search Lab is also launching new capabilities for AI overviews, allowing you to adjust and save information and links from an initial search. 

After some issues were resolved, users in the US who use AI overviews are using Search more and are satisfied with their results. Users are also engaging with AI overviews to help with complex topics.

Additionally, it is seeing more engagement from younger users aged 18–24. The AI Overview in Search uses high-quality and secure systems through which users get reliable and high-quality information. Users around the world can use this Search to ask new types of questions and find the information they need quickly.
