In September 2024, Google announced an exciting update to Google Maps that includes sharper satellite imagery, and expanded Street View coverage, and Google Earth will soon give users access to more historical imagery. With this new update, Google Cloud Score+ will also offer maps and other satellite imagery in conjunction with AI. This update can identify and remove snow, mountain shadows, clouds, cloud shadows, haze, etc. through AI. As a result, it will also show a clearer and more accurate, brighter, and more vibrant globe of the earth.

This Google Earth will be released on the web and mobile. Google is going to release this feature in around 80 countries, which will include such countries as Bosnia, Namibia, Liechtenstein, Paraguay, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Denmark, France, Iceland, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the Philippines, Rwanda, Serbia, Spain, South Africa, Switzerland, and Uruguay.

Google Maps’ street view images provide valuable information for everyone from urban planning to casual tourists to navigate and explore the world.

Now, the brand is integrating AI and machine learning into its mapping services, giving users sophisticated and accurate digital information about the physical world. It is also capable of higher levels of representation, whether it’s planning a road trip, finding a local business, or doing research. These updates will also provide great strength to Google Maps as a digital service.
