Android 15 Beta 3 Released for Some Selected Pixel Devices
The Android 15 Beta 3 update for Pixel devices has been rolled out to select devices from Google. This is the last major release of Android 15 QPR1 with Beta before the December launch, and this new update is designed to enhance performance optimizations, interface improvements, productivity, customization and security.
These offer more significant changes than the security patch and add major UI tweaks and new features. The Android 15 QPR1 Beta 3 adds several features and fixes a variety of issues. These issues included notifications sometimes displayed with some content cut off and a problem related to system memory paging, which sometimes caused the devices to crash and turn on by themselves.
Also, the volume buttons did not work when connected to some Bluetooth devices, and some app icons on the home screen displayed the default system icon instead of the app’s icon. Sometimes, the device would run slow and sometimes crash when switching back from the secondary user to the primary user, causing users to face problems.
Another issue that sometimes caused the system UI to crash and the screen to go blank when opening the device in a foldable device. An issue that sometimes prevented users from interacting with heads-up notifications and sometimes caused the system to crash when taking bug reports. All these issues have been resolved, as well as several other issues affecting system stability, connectivity and interactivity.
Fixed a crash BluthoothDevice.getType() that primarily reused Bluetooth resources between virtual device instances. Improved LE audio volume control by enabling independent adjustment of the volume of each connected sink using the UI and restricting adjustment of the volume key to the primary sink.
