Google is constantly developing Google Messages to improve the user experience, including many features. These features aim to improve user privacy and protect them from suspicious calls and Messages. International callers and content verification will also be done through this new update in Google Messages.

According to Google blog post, it will roll out to the global market for the device later this year with intelligent warnings about potentially dangerous links. Google Messages has confirmed this through a post which is given below as follows –

Spam Protection

Google Messages this feature has just been released for beta users in the Messages app, and it allows the user to be alerted. This feature can automatically move spam text messages to the spam folder, which can also give the user new privacy. This feature will rely on on-device machine learning to identify and classify conversations.

Dangerous Link Identification

This feature from Mountain View is currently being rolled out in India, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. It alerts users about unknown dangerous links in messages and blocks them if permission is granted from the user.

Content Warning

Another feature has sensitive connection warnings. The feature blurs certain content, and users will have to give permission through an option to view the media. This will improve end-to-end encryption and user privacy. These sensitive content warnings will be opt-in for adults above 18.

Protection against international strangers

Google will hide text messages received from unknown international senders to make it easier to move them to spam and blocked folders. This feature will be launched in Singapore later this year and expanded to other regions after that.

Contact Verification Facility

This feature will require users to confirm their identity before sending messages and verify the public keys of contents. Google may soon add QR codes or number comparisons to it as well. It seems that this feature will be rolled out next year for Android 9 or later.
