Samsung is preparing to launch its XR soon, which can be used with the Galaxy S25. According to the report, Samsung is likely to unveil the new XR device in 2025. This device will offer advanced connectivity with Samsung’s ecosystem, which can also lead to a renaissance in XR technology.
This strategic shift will also introduce a new category for Google Play Store and XR apps, which indicates a broader push towards mainstream XR adoption. Samsung may also take support from Google’s software and Qualcomm in the development of this new XR device, which was announced earlier this year and is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip.
This new chipset was recently spotted on Geekbench, and it also included 16GB of RAM and a 6-core SoC. For software, it is expected to be on Android 14. The handset may include environmental awareness, health tracking, high pixels, impressive visuals, a micro OLED display, and sensors. It may include a feature like Persona mode on Apple’s Vision Pro.
This will allow Samsung to showcase the Galaxy ecosystem, which will also make the XR device a seamless extension for Galaxy users. It can also use lighter and better AR glasses. Samsung may launch this new device alongside the S25 series. Additionally, the Galaxy branding may also be removed from it and rebranded as a new lineup.
