WhatsApp is Rolling Out a New Event Feature For the Community Group Chats, Currently Available to some Beta Testers
It’s been a while since WhatsApp introduced the new Community section that significantly allowed users to get all their groups in a single place. With that, now, it appears that this popular Meta-owned instant messaging is rolling out a new event feature for the community group chats, as it is currently available to some beta testers on the latest WhatsApp beta for Android.
WhatsApp to soon bring a new Event Feature for the community group chats, Allowing users to create events
As spotted by the WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will soon allow users to create events within their community group chats. This functionality will offer users an additional layer of convenience in organizing and managing all their events. While creating a new event, users will be required to enter the event’s name, date, time, and location(optional), while the option to create a new event will be placed in the attachment menu within the community group chats.
Moreover, once an event is sent to the community groups, all the participants within the community will automatically get a notification, which allows them to review and accept the event. Also, the person who created the event will have the ability to make some changes to the details by editing them later. However, this will inform all the participants who have accepted the event that some changes have been made to the event details.
All the newly created events will be easily accessible from the community pages, which will offer community members the flexibility to get notified about each planned event earlier. Meanwhile, the new event feature is currently available to some selected beta testers on the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update, bearing 2.24.9.20 version number. At the same time, WhatsApp will roll out the new feature to more users over the coming weeks.
