Google held its annual Made by Google event today, on August 14, unveiling several devices, including smartphones, foldable phones, smartwatches and TWS earbuds. However, this device series is Pixel 9, which includes Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The Google Pixel 9 series is the successor to last year’s Pixel 8 series. Google Pixel 9
This new Pixel 9 has a 6.3-inch Actua display, a 20:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2424 OLED resolutions, a 60-120 Hz refresh rate, up to 1800 nits’ brightness, and 27,000 nits’ peak brightness, which is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It measures 152.8mm x 72 mm x 8.5 mm and weighs 198 grams. Pixel 9 is available in four colour options: Peony, Wintergreen, Porcelain, and Obsidian.
Pixel 9 packs a 4700 mAh battery that supports a 45W fast charger and wireless charger. This battery will charge up to 55% in just 30 minutes. The company clearly stated that Pixel 9 gives a backup of 24+ hours. Pixel 9 is equipped with the Google Tensor G4 and Titan M2 security coprocessor. Pixel 9 runs on Android 14 and gets Android 15 and other updates.
The Pixel 9 houses a 50 MP wide and 48 MP ultrawide camera with macro focus and super zoom up to 8x and optical quality at 0.5x, 1x, and 2x. The 10.5 MP dual PD selfie camera has auto-focus, an f/2.2 aperture, and a 95 ultrawide field of view. Pixel 9 also includes some camera features such as Add Me, Macro Focus, Night Sight, Astrophotography, Portrait Mode, Face Blur, Frequent Faces, etc.
Pixel 9 also includes some AI features like – Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, Best Take, Photo Unblur, Portrait Light, etc. The device also comes with the best audio features – Stereo recordings, Speech enhancement, wind noise reduction and audio zoom. Pixel 9 gets an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, fingerprint-resistant coating and scratch resistance. The handset also supports a fingerprint sensor, face unlock, pattern, PIN and passwords for security.
Google Pixel 9 Pro
This new Pixel 9 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch Actua LTPO display, 20:9 aspect ratio, 1280 x 2856 LTPO OLED, 495 ppi, 60-120 Hz refresh rate, up to 2000 nits HDR brightness, and 3000 nits peak brightness, which is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The Pixel 9 measures 152.8mm x 72 mm x 8.5 mm and weighs 199 grams. Pixel 9 Pro is available in four colour options: Porcelain, Rose Quartz, Hazel, and Obsidian.

Pixel 9 Pro is equipped with the Google Tensor G4 and Titan M2 security coprocessor, which is paired with 16 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. It also runs on Android 14.
The Pixel 9 Pro houses a triple camera of 50 MP wide, 48 MP ultrawide with Macro focus and 48 MP 5x telephoto lens, Super Res Zoom up to 30x and optical quality at 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x and 10x. The 42 MP dual PD selfie camera with auto-focus f/2.2 aperture and 103 ultrawide field of view. The camera, AI and audio features are the same as the Pixel 9 model.
Pixel 9 Pro also gets an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and a fingerprint sensor, face unlock, pattern, PIN and passwords for security.
Google Pixel 9 Pro XL
The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is similar with the Google Pixel 9 Pro model but it includes a little bit of changes as 1344 x 2992 LTPO OLED at 486 resolutions and the dimensions is 162.8 x 76.6 x 8.5 mm. The weight of the device is 221 grams and it packs a big battery which is 5060 mAh.
Google Pixel 9 Pro XL comes with 16 GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB storage. It houses the same camera lens and other features like Google Pixel 9 Pro. These series will gets a long seven years of Android and security patch updates.
