Google recently announced that all Pixel devices will soon get Android 15, and its source code has also been released. Google is delaying the release of Android 15 with all new features, and it seems that some new highlights may also be seen in next year’s Android 16 update. These changes also include a redesign of Android’s notification and quick settings panel.
Android 16 Changes In Notification And Quick Setting
The current design of the Android notification and Quick settings panel came with Android 12 in 2021. In this design, once you pull down the status bar, the first four quick settings tiles and the entire notification panel appear. When you pull it again, the quick settings panel and some notifications appear.
The HyperOS includes a different design for notifications and Quick Settings. In this, more notifications are seen in the first panel, and more tiles and buttons are seen in the later panel. At the same time, Samsung and Oppo protested a lot about copying this design. Apart from this design, Google is working on a new dual-shade design for Android 16.
In the new design of Android 16, pulling down the status bar once brings down the notification panel, which now takes up about a quarter of the screen instead of the entire screen. According to the new report, you cannot see the Quick Settings tile in the latest notification dropdown.
However, pulling down the status bar a second time does not bring down the quick settings panel, which can also be accessed by pulling down the status bar with two fingers. You can swipe left or right between pages after viewing all the tiles to see the Quick Settings. However, the brightness bar is kept at the top.
In Android 16 new design, icons and many other things disappeared, such as the switcher, power menu, foreground service task manager, and many tiles. The leaked image mentioned Flexi and Flexiglass, which is written on a red banner in the bottom right corner. This is the internal codename of the architecture that Google has implemented to make System UI more stable. Apart from this, Google is also working on charging the notification and quick setting panel on a large scale.
