Google Ends Of Software Support for Pixel 5a

Google launched the Google Pixel 5a globally on August 26, 2021, in 128 GB and 6GB RAM variants. The device was priced around Rs.25,000 in India. It was also the best phone in the segment, using the Qualcomm SM7250 Snapdragon 765G 5G (7nm) chipset.

It uses an octa-core 1×2.4 GHz Kryo 475 Prime, 1×2.2 GHz Kryo 475 Gold, and 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 475 Silver for GPU. The Adreno 620 was also used for GPU. The device received three major OS upgrades and security patch and it came with Android 11. Pixel 5a has received Android 14 last year.

The Pixel 5a was shipped updated to Android 12 in October 2021, Android 13 in August 2022, and Android 14 in October 2023. It included Google Camera 8.2, with features like a Call Screen and a Personal Safety app. However, it was last updated in August 2024, and it was not listed in September 2024 Google Pixel devices list.

It means, Pixel 5a device stopped receiving new security patches after August 2024 and will not get Android 15 either. However, the company has not yet included this device in any EOL List officially, but it is expected that the brand will release soon EOL information about this device.
