Google is developing a new feature to protect users’ data from dangerous applications. The brand has updated the Play Integrity API with a feature called App Access Risk. It can verify whether the app installed by the user can capture screen content or control actions and prompt the user to close the application.
Google App Access Risk Feature
App Access Risk Feature can protect users from dangerous and problematic apps and can also be used to record screens from sensitive applications. The company gave information about this feature at the Google I/O 2024 event.
Reported by Android Authority, “they can be used to capture screens, display overlays or control the device” and it will warn the user whether risky or dangerous apps have been installed on the device. This Play Integrity API is capable of collecting all the information about any application that is unknown or known to Google Play Protect.
App Access Risk Feature can collect all the information about it, and all the apps that meet the criteria cannot trigger the access risk signal. In these, the accessibility apps checked by Google will be allowed to the apps containing sensitive information. Due to this, many other apps that misuse the user’s data can also be easily stopped.
