Files by Google receive an update only for Android 15 devices

Files by Google recently received a significant update, including a new sharing shortcut. The feature is designed to streamline file sharing by making it easier and faster for users to share documents, photos, videos, and other files with their contacts. It has started rolling out widely for the latest stable version, 1.4955.677425801.0. 

Files by Google for Quick Share

According to 9to5google, a new “Receive” FAB has been spotted in Files by Google. This FAB also includes a Quick Share icon with a ‘Receive’ button on the right side, just below the scan FAB. When you tap on the new FAB, you will be introduced to the ability to receive a file via Quick Share. Sharing through this feature will not begin until you accept it. 

This new sharing shortcut enables quick access to the sharing feature directly from the app’s main interface. Users can now tap on a shortcut instead of navigating through multiple menus to share a file, making the process much more efficient. This is useful for users who often need to share files for personal, educational, or business purposes. 

This shortcut allows users to send images, videos, documents, and audio files. Users can share them in just a few steps, saving time and reducing the hassle associated with file sharing on a mobile device.
