Now Users Can Add Birthday Reminder Date In Google Calendar

After Google Photos, Google is now making changes in Google Calendar as well. A feature will be introduced to find upcoming birthdays based on Google Contact information. It will be used to create and modify birthday events in Google Calendar on Android devices. 

This new feature includes a new birthday chip at the top of the event page, where users can add events, tasks, and out-of-office workspace accounts. Users can easily use ‘Add name’ and ‘Add Date of Birth’ to customize notifications and set colors. 

The event will also have a cover graphic and will also be added to your ‘Birthday’ calendar. These new birthday events will be available in the Calendar API with the eventType ‘birthday’. It will also support the ‘Birthday’ event type filter in both events.list and event.watch. In the future, this feature will also be available on the web and iOS devices. 

As per the brand’s official confirmation, Google Calendar’s new feature firstly seen to rapid release on Android devices from September 19, 2024, while the scheduled released domain can be rolled out from October 9, 2024. Once rolled out, it will be available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Personal subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts.
