Gboard Assistant voice typing was introduced as one of Google’s best features in 2021 with the Pixel 6. Now Assistant voice typing is rebranded as ‘Advanced features’ in settings and voice typing in general.
Gboard Advanced Features
This new feature allows you to write text with your voice with the help of Assistant voice typing on Gboard. Punctuation marks will be automatically added as you speak, and you can type on your keyboard even when your mic is on. This new feature can soon be seen in the Pixel 8+ and the upcoming Pixel 9 series.
In this, you can use many languages, and the upcoming Assistants Voice typing feature will automatically recognize any language you speak. However, you must change the language manually and switch from the previous language to the new language. You can also use it to type and edit messages, add emojis, etc.
Advanced features also allow users to use it for voice commands. This makes it much better than the standard voice experience of Gboard, which works offline and is available for all Android devices. Other leaks have revealed that the “Google Assistant” will also remain on Nest displays and speakers, focusing on smart home interactions. This change in Assistant voice typing branding can be easily seen with the beta version 14.5.x of Gboard for Android.
