Gemini AI is now offering a new file upload feature on Android and iOS. With this, the user will not need to use gemini.google.com. This new feature will allow the user to access all types of files in one place, which will save a lot of time and ensure that they will not have much trouble finding any file.
Gemini AI File Uploading Feature
In this new feature, Live is introducing support for file upload instead of using gemini.google.com after more extensions, which will require only Gemini AI Advanced. After introducing this feature, the Fullscreen Gemini App adds a plus icon in the bottom-left corner. The new icon appears next to the microphone and camera pill, while Gemini Live will be placed on the other side.
For Android devices, it has been included in three options: upload file, upload from gallery, and upload from Drive. On the other hand, Gemini AI on iOS has no other options, and it seems that all uploading is done by changing just one setting.
It supports uploading up to 10 files at a time; each file can be up to 100 MB. Earlier, this feature was available only for the web client. All the file types that support this new feature are given below:
- Plain text files: TXT
- Document files: DOC, DOCX, PDF, RTF, DOT, DOTX, HWP, HWPX
- Documents created in Google Docs
- Tabular data files: CSV, TSV
- Spreadsheet files: XLS,
- Spreadsheets created in Google Sheets.
