Google Introduced AI-Powered ‘Help Me Write’ Shortcut for Gmail Web

Google recently introduced AI-powered “Help Me Write” shortcuts for the Gamil web interface that can speed up emails and improve clarity for users. This feature can be helpful for formalizing, expanding, or shortening emails. In addition, another shortcut for the ‘Polish’ feature can be added to mobile and web platforms.

Google has introduced “Help Me Write” and “Polish” shortcuts on the web through a blog post. The Help Me Write shortcut can be used only when the draft is empty on the web. Apart from this, this Polish shortcut will now appear for drafts with more than 12 words. To use this feature, users must swipe right on the shortcut.

For this, users can use the Control+H Keyboard shortcut followed by three preset options to formalize, expand, or shorten text. They can also use it to correct text. With this new Google feature, users can right-click on any email to highlight a phrase, question, or instruction, rewrite existing text, or highlight text.

Google has enabled this feature by default. This new feature is available for Google Workspace, Gemini Business, Google enterprise add-on, Gemini education, education premium add-on, and Google One AI premium customers and is being rolled out gradually.
