Youtube is Experimenting on Allowing Users to add Notes Under their Videos
Google’s YouTube has constantly experimented with a bunch of features, which significantly helps in keeping the application fresh and interactive, with several top-notch changes for both the creators and viewers. Meanwhile, this popular streaming platform has already begun testing a new capability that will allow users to add Notes below their videos, to which Google officially stated that it’s currently experimenting with the Notes feature for YouTube.
Notes on YouTube will be available in the US in English language:
From now on, YouTube is testing an experimental feature, dubbed Notes, which will allow people to significantly add contextual information on videos that’s more accurate, relevant, and easy-to-understand. Starting in English, this newest experimental feature will be available on smartphones in the US.
Notes feature seems more or less similar to the Community Notes feature of X:
This new experiment of Notes within YouTube videos will significantly add on to a number of previously launched features and capabilities for displaying some useful and helpful context along with videos, which in turn could also help users to get more helpful and accurate information when the context is altered or synthetic. Meanwhile this experimental Notes feature could be as similar as the Community Notes feature of X.
The company officially stated that the new experimental feature- Notes will significantly appear below the video if widely users found their content actual and helpful. People will be asked for the feedback and what they think about Notes, is ‘Helpful’, ‘Somewhat Helpful’, or ‘Unhelpful’ while also asking them the reason behind their selection.
