Google’s latest Lookup phone number search feature starts rolling out to the Phone by Google
Google has released the latest Feature Drop for June, which brought plenty of new and exciting features to the Pixel devices. This new feature Drop also introduced some stellar capabilities to the Pixel smartphones, including the expansion of Gemini Nano to the Pixel 8s—the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8a. Meanwhile, Google added a new Reverse Phone Number lookup search feature among all the new features that arrived with the latest Pixel Feature Drop. Now, Google is rolling out this Lookup feature to its Phone app.
As the Android ecosystem is way more secure and reliable, Google has always focused on bringing more security-related enhancements to Android devices. The same goes for the new Reverse phone number Lookup feature. Debuted with the latest Pixel Feature Drop, Google has started rolling out this new feature for its Phone app.
Google Phone app is getting the latest Lookup feature
Meanwhile, Google introduced a new reverse phone number lookup feature to boost anti-spam calling measures significantly. From now on, when you receive a call from an unknown person who is not in your contact list, you will notice a new button named Lookup, allowing you to perform a reverse phone number search directly from your call log. This new Lookup button is beside the Add Contact, Message, and History buttons.
Thus, when you hit the lookup button, the Google Search page, along with that unknown phone number and country code, will open in front of you. In contrast, Google has already started rolling out the new Lookup feature to the Phone app that carries version 132 (beta), as several Pixel users have begun seeing this feature on their devices. However, this update is server-side, and your Pixel device doesn’t have to be on the latest Feature Drop.
