Google App Testing Customizable Shortcuts in Search Widget

Recently, the widget in the search bar of the Google App for Android devices was updated with dynamic colors, and it is expected that the brand will remove some of its features soon. On the other hand, Google is testing Customizable Shortcuts in Google Search Widget.

Customizable Shortcuts in Google Search Widget

Apart from the keyboard, the Google App’s search app also includes a microphone for voice search and Google Lens visual Search. It seems that Google is also testing a “Plus” shortcut to the mic’s left.

Through this new feature, you can easily access translation, song search, weather, camera translation, or finance information. All these features have their own icon, which you can also set to “none.” In addition, Google can give a new look to the shortcuts that appear below the search bar in the Home and Discover feed.

To use this, users will first have to go to Google App Settings and then Select their choice from the Customize Search widget. However, this new feature of Google Search is currently under testing and will be rolled out soon for beta users and then widely rolled out in the coming days.
